What is Step Swap?

Step Swap helps people with mismatched shoe sizes find a SoleMate and swap sneakers fairly. You can also match for same-size color swaps or single-foot / spare-shoe needs.

Can I browse without an account?

Yes. Enter your left and right EU sizes on the homepage or community page to see how many SoleMates match. Names and chat require a free Google sign-in.

Is sign-in free?

Yes. Creating a profile, viewing matches, and messaging are free. There is no subscription.

When do I pay?

Only when you and a SoleMate agree to swap and need shipping labels. Each person pays for their inbound parcel (carrier shipping + shop fee). You are not charged until both have authorized payment; if the swap expires, the hold is released.

How much does a swap cost?

It depends on the route (your country and your SoleMate's country). See our delivery fees page for typical totals. The exact amount is always shown in chat before you pay.

Is there a weight limit for my parcel?

Each label covers a parcel up to about 1 kg. A single shoe in a box is normally well within this, so standard shoes ship fine — only very heavy boots (ski, hiking, or work boots) may go over.

What if my left and right foot are different sizes?

Enter both sizes when searching. Step Swap matches opposite sizes (e.g. left 42 / right 43 with someone who wears 43 / 42) within a ±1 EU tolerance.

I wear a shoe on one foot, or use a prosthetic or adaptive shoe — can I join?

Yes. After sign-in, set which foot you wear a shoe on and your EU size in Profile. We match you with SoleMates who may have a spare shoe in your size, including for prosthetic or adaptive footwear. Supply-only swaps let one person ship while the other only receives.

Recovering from an injury?

If you need one shoe for a cast, surgery, or temporary recovery, use the single-foot profile setting. You can match with SoleMates who have a spare in your size without buying a full pair.

Kids with different-sized feet?

Enter both EU sizes when searching — growing feet often match as opposite sizes (e.g. left 32 / right 33 with someone who wears 33 / 32).

How does swapping work?

Each person orders a pair in their own size, keeps the shoe that fits, and ships the other shoe to their SoleMate. Step Swap provides carrier labels once both have paid.

Who is the seller when I pay?

When you pay the shipping-label or shop fee, your contract is with Step Swap (the platform operator). The shoe swap itself is between you and your SoleMate — Step Swap is not the seller of the shoes.

Do I have 14 days to cancel a swap?

Statutory withdrawal applies to Step Swap's paid fee service, not to private member-to-member shoe swaps. When you pay, you may expressly request immediate label generation, which can end withdrawal once the label is fully created (Terms §7). Use our online withdrawal if you are still within the 14-day period and the right has not ended.

How do I withdraw from the label service?

Use the online withdrawal function, the model form, or email info@vaet.sk. We email a confirmation with a timestamp.
